Biography

Cierra joined the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) staff in 2021 as a Program Coordinator for Identity and Social Justice Programing. Her main responsibilities include creating support initiatives for historically marginalized student populations; designing and delivering social justice programming; facilitating space that allows for the amplifying of BIPOC student voices.

A native of Louisiana, Cierra is joining KU post-completion of her Master’s degree in Women’s Studies at the University of Alabama, where she also obtained her B.A. in African American Studies. While at the university, she was able to partner with the Women and Gender Resource Center to develop programming that amplified the voices of the most marginalized students on campus, while facilitating dialogue to make the campus a safer, more inclusive place for those students. She hopes to continue that work while at the OMA.

Cierra loves to read, eat good food, and spend time out and about exploring. Feel free to send any food or book recommendations her way!
