Mission, Vision, Pillars

Vision Statement:

Cultivating an inclusive campus community through social justice and academic success.

Mission Statement:

The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides support and services for current and prospective students from historically marginalized populations. Our programs and services enhance the retention and persistence of students, while supporting their academic, personal and professional development.  Additionally, through purposeful coalitions, we offer diversity and social justice education programs that foster inclusive learning environments for the campus community.

Academic Enrichment Programs:

The transition to KU can be challenging, in particular, the first and second years are critical for underrepresented populations. We provide academic enrichment that includes advising, tutoring and seminars that enhance the retention and the persistence of students.

Diversity Education and Social Justice:

Diversity and social justice are essential components of an inclusive campus community, enriching the experience for everyone. We provide educational opportunities that engage faculty, staff and students through dialogue, self-exploration and advocacy.

Outreach and Purposeful Coalitions:

Engaging in partnerships that promote diversity, equity and inclusion allow for an exchange of ideas and resources that advance the mission of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. We actively seek new opportunities that will enhance the academic and personal development of the campus community.
